An Oculofaciocardiodental Syndrome: Challenges in Endodontic Treatment
Oculofaciocardiodental (OFCD) syndrome is characterized by ocular, facial, cardiac, and dental abnormalities. Radiculomegaly affecting canines is pathognomonic dental finding. Dentists should be aware of the somatic anomalies potentially associated with radiculomegaly. We report a case of OFCDS and provide the description of the challenges in endodontic treatment of gigantic roots.
متن کاملIatrogenic pneumomediastinum and facial emphysema after endodontic treatment.
Subcutaneous emphysema is well known, but diffusion of gas into the mediastinum is not so common, particularly if it is caused by treatment of a root canal without apparent osseous fenestration or mucoperiostal lesions. We report a case of iatrogenic pneumomediastinum and facial emphysema after endodontic treatment. The diagnosis was confirmed by computed tomography, and the patient recovered a...
متن کاملPain and flare-up after endodontic treatment procedures.
Flare-ups can occur after root canal treatment and consist of acute exacerbations of an asymptomatic pulpal and/or periradicular pathologic condition. The causative factors of interappointment pain encompass mechanical, chemical, and/or microbial injury to the pulp or periradicular tissues. Microorganisms can participate in causation of interappointment pain in the following situations: apical ...

متن کاملNefopam Reduces Dysesthesia after Percutaneous Endoscopic Lumbar Discectomy
BACKGROUND Neuropathic pain, including paresthesia/dysesthesia in the lower extremities, always develops and remains for at least one month, to variable degrees, after percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy (PELD). The recently discovered dual analgesic mechanisms of action, similar to those of antidepressants and anticonvulsants, enable nefopam (NFP) to treat neuropathic pain. This study wa...
